View (Sudhisa) Patibhanthewa was born and raised in Ratchaburi, a small peaceful province of Thailand, and in 1989 moved to Bangkok, the capital city.
She took her first photography class at Chiang Mai University, Chiang Mai, Thailand, where she received her B.A. in Mass Communication. During her last semester, View was a junior photographer at a day magazine. After graduation, she continued her career as an editorial photographer for a day, as well as for other magazines with Day poets Publishing company, including Hamburger and knock knock!. Her assignment included entertainment portraiture for celebrity profiles and stories.
In 2006, View decided to continue her photography education in the U.S., where she was drawn to cultural diversity. Since 2008, She has been working on Visitor, the project she photographed America from her perspective and vision as a “visitor”. Currently, she is working on Asian | Alien, a continuation idea that has been developed from how non-resident feels about America, to the idea of when visitors become residents, or try to be residents.
In 2008, her digital creative photograph Quarter Life Crisis received Award of Merit from Grossmont College Art Council. Also in 2009, She received Wiley “Jack” House Award from her photo installation Power · Greed · Trap!
View is currently living in San Diego, California and is available for editorial/documentary assignments.
